About

What is this service?

This is a personally run service that shows the market days and locations of Korea's 5-day markets. Visitors share whether the market was really open, its size, photos and prices, so others don't make a wasted trip. It is not an official government or local-government service.

  • Market days and locations: National Traditional Market Standard Data from the Public Data Portal (some corrected with official local-government sources; the source is shown on each market page)
  • Tourist spots and parking: Public Data Portal standard data · Stays and main market photos: Korea Tourism Organization TourAPI (KOGL Type 1 and 3; photos shown unedited, with credit) · Bus stops: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport
  • Local specialties: products registered under Korea's Geographical Indication system · Makgeolli and breweries: traditional liquor data from the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' brewery visit program (Public Data Portal)

Market days are calculated from the monthly date pattern (for example, every date ending in 2 or 7). Closures, moves and holiday changes may not be reflected, so please check again before you go.

How we handle personal data (summary)

  • There is no sign-up or login. We don't collect names, phone numbers or email addresses.
  • Visit reports (text, photos, prices, nickname) are public for anyone to see. Location (GPS) and other camera data are removed from photos before saving.
  • Lists such as My market days and recently viewed markets, and the right to edit your reports, are saved only in this browser.
  • Your exact location (coordinates) is used only on this phone to check the distance. The server only receives the result “near the market.” An “It's open now” check saves only the market, its status, the time you tapped, and a random value for that day that lets only this device edit it.
  • Visit statistics are collected anonymously without cookies and deleted after 180 days. IP addresses are not stored.
  • We use AI from Anthropic (USA) to check text and photos automatically, read price tags and translate reviews on the English/Japanese pages. Reports are stored with Supabase (Seoul servers), and the site runs on servers of Vercel (a US company). Your data is never used for other purposes or sold.
  • There are no ads right now. If we start showing ads, we'll announce it in the Privacy Policy first.

Market-day corrections · Deletion requests

  • Your own reports: In the browser you posted from, open the market page and tap “Delete” on your report. It is removed right away, photos included.
  • For a new browser or a report you can't delete, removing a photo that shows your face, car, etc., or a wrong market day or address, or a market that no longer exists, please contact us below. Including the market name and the date of the report helps us handle it quickly.
